Jessica was drawn to pursue a career in osteopathy after experiencing its therapeutic benefits first hand while being treated for a neck injury. She was impressed by the way the practitioner was able to trace the problem back to its cause and by treating at its origin rather than just where the symptoms were appearing, was able to achieve rapid and lasting relief. She began her education in Classical Osteopathy in 2012 at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton.
Prior to being introduced to osteopathy Jessica completed a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph. During this time she gained both clinical and field experience working within the athletic therapy department as a student trainer after sustaining a season ending injury while she was a member of the varsity rugby team. She continues to build upon her passion for working with athletes of all ages and skill levels.
Jessica’s therapeutic approach is one that is founded on a strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology and biomechanics and allows her to tailor the treatment to the specific needs of each patient. Her treatment applications are guided by osteopathic principles, are gentle in nature and strive to restore alignment and balance within the body, allowing it to heal itself.
Jessica is a member in good standing with the Ontario Osteopathic Association and is accepted by all insurance companies.
I completed my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo and knew I wanted to pursue a career in healthcare and helping others. I loved learning about the human body so I chose to study Osteopathy at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton where I learned about the body’s self healing and self regulating mechanisms through principles based practice. I believe that Osteopathy can help re-align the body’s structure and function so that it can restore its own health through proper blood, nerve, and lymphatic flow. I very much look forward to meeting and working with you all.
